Introduction

Introduction:

As I begin this 8 week social justice plan, I feel an immediate sense of excitement in what I will learn and uncover about myself, my views, and my ideas about how to move forward with my plan. I am a compassionate person with a big heart and open-minded views and values. I am a 29 year old Caucasian female with a full time job as an art teacher in Wisconsin. I have always worked extremely hard and have never taken no for an answer, if there is a will there is a way. I may have been raised in privileged home, but I have never taken anything for granted. I am grateful and thankful for how blessed I have been. This picture is significant because it was taken the day I graduated from UW-Milwaukee with my degree in Art Education. I chose a lifetime of working with children and young adults because I want to inspire them to be creative and imaginative and discover the possibilities are endless to who they can become. I teach to all my children the same core principals regardless of race or the color of their skin. I am excited to begin this journey and see how I can continue to build on my beliefs and push the boundaries even further. I want to make a difference.
